{"id":34480,"date":"2023-05-04T15:50:55","date_gmt":"2023-05-04T15:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lynettelockhart.com\/client\/treasury-us-banks-have\/"},"modified":"2023-05-04T15:55:26","modified_gmt":"2023-05-04T15:55:26","slug":"treasury-us-banks-have","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lynettelockhart.com\/client\/treasury-us-banks-have\/","title":{"rendered":"Treasury: US banks have &#8216;substantial&#8217; liquidity, deposit flows are stable"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON (Reuters) &#8211;     The U.S. Treasury Department on Thursday said it was continuing to monitor market developments amid sharp drops in the shares of regional lenders PacWest Bancorp &lt;PACW.O and Western Alliance Bancorp, but deposit flows were stable.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We continue to closely monitor market developments,&#8221; a Treasury official said. &#8220;The banking system has\u00a0substantial liquidity and deposit flows are stable.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Shares of Los Angeles-based PacWest were down 60% after the lender confirmed it was exploring strategic options.
