{"id":3180,"date":"2023-04-07T01:17:20","date_gmt":"2023-04-07T01:17:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lynettelockhart.com\/client\/moscow-court-to-hear\/"},"modified":"2023-04-07T01:18:27","modified_gmt":"2023-04-07T01:18:27","slug":"moscow-court-to-hear","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lynettelockhart.com\/client\/moscow-court-to-hear\/","title":{"rendered":"Moscow court to hear appeal from jailed American reporter on April 18 &#8211; Interfax"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Reuters) &#8211;     A Moscow court will consider an appeal by lawyers of jailed Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich to lift his pre-trial detention on April 18, the Interfax news agency reported, citing the court&#8217;s press service.<\/p>\n<p>Gershkovich, a U.S. citizen, was arrested last week in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg on espionage charges decried as bogus by the Wall Street Journal, Western leaders and the reporter&#8217;s colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after his arrest, a court in Moscow ordered Gershkovich be held in pre-trial detention at the capital&#8217;s Lefortovo prison until at least May. 29.
