{"id":22954,"date":"2023-04-25T14:24:28","date_gmt":"2023-04-25T14:24:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lynettelockhart.com\/client\/ukraine-plans-for-complete\/"},"modified":"2023-04-25T14:25:11","modified_gmt":"2023-04-25T14:25:11","slug":"ukraine-plans-for-complete","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lynettelockhart.com\/client\/ukraine-plans-for-complete\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine plans for &#8216;complete transformation&#8217; of six war-hit towns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KYIV (Reuters) &#8211;     Ukraine will seek the &#8220;complete transformation&#8221; of six towns that have been badly damaged in Russia&#8217;s full-scale invasion under a reconstruction programme announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Kyiv&#8217;s Western partners are preparing to pour billions of dollars into Ukraine to support reconstruction efforts after 14 months of war.<\/p>\n<p>Shmyhal said the towns of Borodianka and Moshchun near the capital Kyiv, Yahidine in the north, Trostianets and Tsyrkuny in the east, and Posad-Pokrovske in the south would be rebuilt &#8220;comprehensively and according to new principles&#8221; under an experimental programme<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This means that particular houses and buildings will not be rebuilt, but everything &#8211; with a system approach, new planning and a complete transformation of these settlements,&#8221; he told a government meeting.<\/p>\n<p>All six had suffered &#8220;terrible destruction&#8221;, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Shmyhal said the project was part of a broader plan to fast-track reconstruction even though the war is not over.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian forces are expected to mount a counteroffensive in coming weeks to try to recapture Russian-occupied territory.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For us it is important for Ukrainians to see this year already that reconstruction is a reality,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p \/>\n<p> (Reporting by Dan Peleschuk, Editing by Timothy Heritage)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/lynettelockhart.com\/client\/ukraine-plans-for-complete\/file-photo-a-rescuer-walks-during-a-search-operation-for\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lynettelockhart.com\/client\/wp-content\/uploads\/Reuters_Direct_Media\/USOnlineReportWorldNews\/tagreuters.com2023binary_LYNXMPEJ3O0LL-VIEWIMAGE.jpg\" alt=\"tagreuters.com2023binary_LYNXMPEJ3O0LL-VIEWIMAGE\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KYIV (Reuters) &#8211; Ukraine will seek the &#8220;complete transformation&#8221; of six towns that have been badly damaged in Russia&#8217;s full-scale invasion under a reconstruction programme announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Tuesday.
